Some of our recent
clients include US Navy, MedImpact, Warner
Bros., Eaton Aerospace, Cingular Wireless (now AT&T) and Toshiba America
IT. Why did they choose Personal Computer Consultants?
In some cases you may already have the capabilities to solve your
problems. Would another consultant tell you that? We do because we know
that if we provide a cost effective solution (and don't stretch the truth
shall we say) that fits your needs and keeps the cost down then you have
more money left over to solve other problems that we can help you with.
Our unique approach is the reason these great companies have chosen us
for often difficult problems that required not just programming and
systems analysis (you could spend millions on these few words), but
common sense (it seems like the more you spend the less common sense you
get) and a good solid understanding of the business task you are trying
to automate. I have seen many consultants go right into coding
(application programming) without a full understanding of the logical
flow of the process.
The logical flow of any process my be flawed in its conception because the process
stemmed from its manual origin. When going to an automated solution we
often find that steps can be eliminated because of several possibilities;
§ outmoded
or no longer necessary
§ outdated
§ a new automated process can do it
automatically, quicker and less chance of input error.
The key here is
not to just duplicate a manual process but to streamline the process so
that you have the very best process that is simple and easy to understand
and maintain. Don't overcomplicate it.
You need to be able to describe what you are trying to accomplish in one
sentence, if you can't then you may want to consider what the end result
will be, not what the process does. If your consultant uses a lot of
fancy words and complicated processes that you have a hard time
understanding then you may want to consider a second opinion.
